CellarPicked
The wine fridge, by the bottles that actually fit.
We read each maker’s spec sheet and manual, write down what the bottle count assumes, which units can go under a counter, and the zone ranges and noise they state — and we tell you which numbers they don’t.

Start with your collection
- Under 20 bottles
- 20–50 bottles
- 50+ bottles
- Reds and whites (dual zone)
- Built into cabinetry
- Cans and drinks
A “46-bottle” cooler usually means 46 Bordeaux bottles on the maker’s shelves. Burgundy and Champagne bottles are wider, so fewer fit. We write down what each count assumes — and say so when the maker doesn’t.
Each path compares the numbers that decide fit — bottle count and what it assumes, zones, venting, dimensions and noise — not star ratings.

How we read a wine cooler spec sheet
What each line on a maker’s spec sheet and manual tells you, what a bottle count assumes, and how we record the numbers a maker leaves out.

How we work
How we choose
Our method for reading maker documents, recording what each number assumes, and naming what the maker leaves out.
We don’t test
We don’t buy, load or test the coolers we write about. We read the spec sheets and manuals, and we say which numbers we couldn’t verify.

Frequently asked questions
Do you test the wine fridges?
No. We don’t buy, load or test any cooler. “Picked” means chosen from the maker’s own documents, the spec sheet and the manual. Where a number can’t be confirmed from those documents, we say so on the page.
Why do you show a price band instead of a price?
Prices change by retailer and by week, so an exact figure would often be wrong by the time you read it. A band such as $300–500 places a cooler in the right bracket without claiming a precision we can’t keep.
Why doesn’t my wine fridge hold as many bottles as it says?
Makers usually count standard Bordeaux bottles arranged on their own shelf layout. Burgundy, Champagne and other wider bottles take more room, so fewer fit. Each guide notes what the stated count assumes, and says so when the maker doesn’t.
