CellarPicked exists because wine coolers are sold on a number that rarely means what it seems. A “46-bottle” cooler usually means 46 standard Bordeaux bottles on the maker’s own shelves, and fewer once Burgundy or Champagne bottles go in. A cooler described as “built-in” may be freestanding only. The temperature range of each zone, the ambient limits of a thermoelectric unit and the noise figure are buried in manuals most buyers never open. We started this site to read the specification sheets and manuals the makers publish, reconcile the numbers, and say what each one means for the bottles you own and the space you have.
What we cover
Wine coolers and wine fridges — single- and dual-zone, freestanding and front-venting built-in units — and beverage refrigerators, chosen for your collection and where the cooler will go, not for a brand or a price point.
How we work
CellarPicked is research-led. Every guide is built on published documentation, and we don’t buy, load or test the coolers we write about. Every guide states what was verified and what wasn’t. The full method is at How we choose, and the money policy is in our affiliate disclosure.
Who is behind it
Every guide is published under the CellarPicked name and says who edited it, with a short bio. We publish no anonymous content.
